Zlatni rat

Croatia's most recognisable beach: a white-pebble spit reaching some 400 metres into the channel below Bol, with a pine grove — and the remains of a Roman villa rustica — at its heart. The tip visibly shifts shape and direction with wind and currents, which is why it is protected as a geomorphological monument. The afternoon maestral makes it one of the Adriatic's best-known windsurfing spots. Fully serviced and busy in peak season; the western side is traditionally clothing-optional.
