About

One of the very few true sand beaches in the Dubrovnik region, in a wide bay on car-free Lopud island. The sea stays knee-deep for a good hundred metres, which makes it a favourite with families; above the bay stands the pilgrimage church of Our Lady of Šunj. Summer brings beach bars, showers and sunbed rental, plus day-trip crowds from Dubrovnik — the left side of the bay is a traditional naturist zone. Reached on foot across the island in 20–30 minutes, or by seasonal electric shuttle from the harbour.
