Fitness is the second-largest category in our directory — 438 live listings — and the best-reviewed of them is not in Zagreb. A studio in Pula holds 451 reviews at a flat five stars, more perfect-score reviews than any other gym we index. This guide is about how to read those numbers before you sign anything.

How to read a gym’s rating

A 5,0 with 40 reviews and a 4,5 with 900 are not comparable, and for a large gym the second is usually the safer bet: volume exposes the bad days. For a personal trainer the logic inverts — small numbers are normal, and what matters is whether the reviews describe coaching and results rather than the equipment.

Ask three questions before paying for a package: who actually runs your sessions (the named trainer, or whoever is free), what happens to sessions you don’t use, and whether there is an initial assessment. A single personal training session in Croatia typically runs €25 to €45, with ten-session packages bringing that down.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a personal trainer cost in Croatia?
A single session typically runs €25 to €45, with ten-session packages bringing the per-session price down. Ask who actually runs your sessions, what happens to unused sessions, and whether an initial assessment is included.
What should I look for in a gym review?
Volume and specifics. For a large gym, a 4,5 with hundreds of reviews usually beats a 5,0 with forty. For a personal trainer the logic inverts: small numbers are normal, and reviews should describe coaching and results, not the equipment.
Are gyms in Croatia open year-round?
In the cities, yes — most run standard hours year-round, with shorter weekend schedules. Coastal gyms in smaller towns may trim hours off-season, so check the listing’s opening hours before travelling.
